Halloween has come and gone and I’ve learned to love to celebrate it with my kiddos. I just love to see their faces light up in amazement at the spooky decorations. Last year at the preschool’s annual Trunk or Treat event Maddux was just 10 days old when we rolled up the school and put some of my decorations from the house in the trunk of my car and passed out candy. We had one of the lamest cars there and I told myself that next year (now, this year) I would go big!
So here we are!

Jackson and Hudson love to watch the old Jurassic Park movies with their grandparents. So Matt and I decided to be Jurassic Park Rangers and dress up the kiddos as dinosaurs. It’s a very real representation of our world, the two of us wrangling three tiny but mighty boys.
For this display, I used household items, purchased a few items on Amazon and at the dollar store to create a Jurassic World themed trunk.

Bringing It All Together:
Let me just preface this by saying, there is nothing fancy or tricky about this project. I used diaper boxes, toilet paper roles, and $1 table cloths to bring this display together. So, don’t expect anything overly artistic or creative, I just used the items I had and maybe made one extra trip to Dollar General.
So to begin, with the third row in the upright position in our Armada we have about two feet of flat space to work with for our dino display. I draped the camo mesh over the back and trunk and tucked the dinos behind the mesh so they were peaking out. I looped the hemp string through notches and hooks on the sides of my car to create a zig zag and then taped to the taillight of my car. I printed a “Warning ⚠️ Dinosaurs” sign and taped it to the string. Easy peasy!
While I was researching some other Jurassic Park displays on Pinterest, I found that most of the displays included the Jurassic Park gate with black/gray stones made out of boxes. Instead of the boxes, I used my photo booth stand to support a balloon arch made from the black, white and silver balloons. To cover the feet of the photo booth stands, I used two diaper boxes and wrapped them in the silver tablecloth. I tucked red and yellow tissue paper into a toilet paper role to create a flame on either side of the base of the arch.
The “Jurassic World” sign is actually a very light weight aluminum tray covered in a plastic silver table cloth. I downloaded this Jurassic Park themed font, printed and cut out the letters, and taped them to the back of the crafted sign. The aluminum tray was light enough to attach to the balloons during the set up. The final touch was adding the green palm pieces to the balloon arch.
Overall, I loved the way this display turned out given the limited time I had to prepare for it! Below are pictures from Trunk or Treat!
